The Danish Customs and Tax Administration April 1 announced reduced excise tax rates for alcoholic beverages, effective the same date. The measures include a tax reduction to: 1) 48.74 Danish kroner (US$7.31) from 56.02 kroner (US$8.40) per tonne liter of 100 percent pure alcohol for beer; 2) 5.18 kroner (US$0.78) from 5.34 kroner (US$0.80) per liter of wine with ethanol content between 1.2 percent to 6 percent; 3) 11.26 kroner (US$1.69) from 11.61 kroner (US$1.74) per liter of wine.
